the display block
A display block lets you display images and text onto the screen of your NXT. The display block only has three options to choose from.
Action - You can choose to display between an image from a preset list, text which you can later type in below, a drawing of points, lines or circles, or reset which would clear the NXT’s screen of everything already on there. To choose between which to use, you must first decide what you want to display or indicate.
Display - There is a single check box in this area where you can decide to clear or to not clear. This won’t clear the current image but it will clear the screen of anything that was on it before that point in the program. After the clear, your image is then posted on the NXT. Note that in reset, this option doesn't exist because you have already told the block to clear (meaning of reset).
What you want to display - This option will vary in names depending on what you set the Action setting. In image it says file, in text it says text, in drawing it says type, and in reset it doesn't exist. This allows you to choose what exactly you are putting on the screen. Note that in text, you can type what you want to display, not just choose from a list.

The last part of the display block is called the Position. The NXT’s screen is basically a grid. On the side of the screen given to you, you can see the x and y values of the image’s points. You can use this to place your pictures more exact. You may want to experiment with the different types of displays (actions) to see where this point will lie. It is different for each.
Text is special in this part. You can use lines to display text accurately. The NXT has 8 lines for you to choose from. This way, you don’t overlap words.
